Ty Bach.

This absolutly adorable teeny wweeeeeny cottage, i think is a holiday home now, but at least it has some care shown to it, the doorway is about 4ft 6 high we parked the mini there to show the size, i read the census, and 12 people lived here in 1845 ,4 of them where adults.

A tempting little property but can you imagine what family life must have been like in those conditions.

It does look lovely. Can't imagine my pair tearing around in there, never mind 12 people!! It is incredible to think how people used to live, and still do in parts of the world...

warm wishes

Our first house was a miners cottage, two up two down we put a bathroom in. My grandmother and her 5 siblings were all born there, they shared the upstairs rooms and their parents slept in what was little more than a pantry off the kitchen. Incredibly they were by no means poor but it was just the way the majority of people lived back then. People did have far less material possessions then i.e half the junk we feel necessary to modern day living.

The one below is incredible and such a shame it has been left to go. It must have been beautiful to look at in its hay day.

I love little cottages, there are several like that in this part of Wales and lots in Pembrokeshire of course. Ours is small of course and blacksmiths used to live here with several children. As AnnaK said they had few possessions, life was simple then.
I will post the artichoke soup recipe on the food forum.

The farm we rented whilst buying this place was semi derelict. It had 4 bedrooms but there were 17 children in the Cooper family who lived there!
