Ours is small of course and blacksmiths used to live here with several children. As AnnaK said they had few possessions, life was simple then.
I will post the artichoke soup recipe on the food forum.
CaitxCait O'Connorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04569760764766505179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3150947517130071500.post-53994889936347255882007-07-22T12:51:00.000-07:002007-07-22T12:51:00.000-07:00Our first house was a miners cottage, two up two d...Our first house was a miners cottage, two up two down we put a bathroom in. My grandmother and her 5 siblings were all born there, they shared the upstairs rooms and their parents slept in what was little more than a pantry off the kitchen. Incredibly they were by no means poor but it was just the way the majority of people lived back then. People did have far less material possessions then i.e half the junk we feel necessary to modern day living.

The one below is incredible and such a shame it has been left to go. It must have been beautiful to look at in its hay day.annakareninhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17185509518913591643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3150947517130071500.post-50583536540423287652007-07-17T21:27:00.000-07:002007-07-17T21:27:00.000-07:00It does look lovely.
